2020 BMW i3 For the Oceans Edition
With the limited BMW i3 For the Oceans Edition, BMW is adding a new chapter to the impressive, sustainable performance of this electrically powered car. A total of 100 pieces of this special edition will be produced. It is a richly equipped version with some special features in appearance and interior, which refer to the purpose to which the buyers contribute. The purchase price includes a donation of € 1,000 that will benefit an organization that is committed to cleaning up plastic and cleaner oceans. The new BMW i3 For the Oceans Edition has a suggested retail price of € 46,341 (the fiscal value is € 44,995) and will be in dealer showrooms from July.
BMW introduced the BMW i3 in the Netherlands in 2013. Thanks to the sustainable development, production and recycling of the car, the BMW i3 is still a major player in the electric car market even seven years after its introduction and, above all, one of the most sustainable cars that offer everyday driving pleasure. For example, fishing nets are the basic material for the velor floor mats and the seats are upholstered in material made from recycled plastic. The limited BMW i3 For the Oceans Edition gives the sustainable character an extra dimension.
Features of BMW i3 For the Oceans Edition.
The BMW i3 For the Oceans Edition is finished in Fluid Black with BMW i Blue accent and ‘For the Oceans’ logo below the A-pillar. Other features include Eucalyptus wood interior trims with laser engraving “For the Oceans” and velor floor mats with “For the Oceans” stitching. The complete equipment includes the Sports package, Comfort Pack Advanced, the Connectivity Pack including Navigation Professional and 20-inch alloy wheels. The equipment also includes heated seats, a heat pump, a reversing camera, Park Distance Control front/rear and seat belts in BMW i Blue.
With the BMW i3 For the Oceans Edition, the customer receives a certificate in which BMW Netherlands declares that the BMW i3 is a limited For the Oceans Edition and that the customer contributes to plastic-free oceans with the purchase of the limited Edition. The back of the certificate is also made of recycled plastic.
With a fiscal value of € 44,995, the BMW i3 For the Oceans Edition falls entirely in the 8% addition category for business drivers. In addition, this version also qualifies for the € 4,000 subsidy that the government makes available for the private purchase of electric cars. This scheme is expected to come into effect on 1 July 2020.
