San Vittore, June 8th, 2022 – The first supercar of the Swiss car manufacturer Picasso Automotive, the 660 LMS, finally broke cover today, during the private preview event at the Top Marques Monaco exhibition.
On June 9th the car will be officially unveiled by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, who will lift the black bespoke Goodwool car shell to reveal the 660 LMS shapes to the public.

660 LMS: A meaningful statement

Simple, yet meaningful and with a gritty personality that reflects the company’s spirit: 660 stands for the power of its engine, LM indicates the racy body inspired by the iconic Le Mans prototypes and S is for street use. As the company’s CEO and founder Stefano Picasso enthusiastically points out: “The whole car has been engineered to maximize performance on the road and on the track, with aerodynamics carefully studied in every detail, the extensive use of carbon fiber and composite materials, powered by a state-of-the-art engine. We wanted a sensational, responsive and at the same time technical drive, which can be appreciated both by professionals and amateurs”.

The 660 LMS is entirely designed, engineered and assembled in Picasso Automotive premises in San Vittore (Switzerland), a 1.900 m2 industrial building with central offices, mechanical workshop, warehouse, setup area and 5 bespoke assembly stations realized by 3D Beta, featuring a complete array of the best mechanical tools.
The car is based on an ultralight platform that exploits the best properties of carbon fiber on an unprecedented level, from the bodywork to the interiors. The most challenging project pillar was to keep the weight as low as possible, to enhance performance and driving dynamics. The high level of research in superlight and composite materials, allowed to reach a staggering weight of just 980 kilograms. The monocoque is completely made of structural carbon fiber and all the body is devoid of metal brackets: the exterior bodywork is assembled and joint piece on piece. The two sinuously curved body sides are made with the longest carbon fiber panel ever built for a car, with a length of 3,24 meters (out of a total car length of 4,36 meters). In addition, the rear frame is entirely made in carbon fiber, an unusual and brave engineering solution which underlines how keen the company is in refining its design. Such a bold approach is reflected on the outside styling, which combines technical and functional aspects with a very strong character.
The chassis and the bodywork are designed in-house and produced by the strategic partner NuTeCo in its facilities located in Pombia (NO) in Italy, where they traduce Picasso Automotive’s design inputs in state-of-the-art carbon fiber parts. The high quality of the materials and the refined production process guarantee the highest standard output, in line with the outstanding quality requirements of structural stiffness, stress resistance and visual appearance.
The interiors adopt a minimalistic yet functional layout, where ergonomics is studied to guarantee comfort and effectiveness both in daily use and on track. The matt carbon fiber finishing contributes to create an unmistakable racecar feeling, enhanced by the monocoque Sabelt seats with 6-point harness. The bespoke carbon fiber steering wheel, with handles wrapped in Alcantara and carbon fiber shift paddles, features a 7” multifunction touch color display which embeds all key information related to the driving, while the physical buttons and selectors allow for a quick and effective adjustment of the vehicle parameters. The rotary controls for the adjustable ABS system (Bosch Motorsport), engine map selector and traction control are easily at hand in any driving condition.

A racecar for the road

The 660 LMS is the uncompromised expression of the best motorsport features, applied to a road car.
One of the most impressive is the 660 LMS engine, a dry-sump 3.0 Twin-Turbo V6 revving as high as 8.000 rpm, boasting 660 CV and 720 Nm. This lightweight, state-of-the-art billet aluminum powertrain is supplied by Autotecnica Motori, an Italian ground-breaking company which designs, produces and develops competition engines, and has been developed according to Picasso Automotive’s specifications. The 660 LMS represents its very first application for a road car, but the track is the natural environment to express its responsiveness and racing attitude.
Sitting directly behind the driver, the engine sends its power to the rear wheels alone via the racing-derived, 6-speed sequential transmission by Sadev, a benchmark in the world of motorsport. This solution with integrated differential represents the optimal compromise between performance, reliability and weight, granting an optimal drive in any condition.
Keeping it in the racing domain, the exhaust is developed by SC-Project, the world’s leading manufacturer of exhaust systems for road and racing motorcycles. Their first automotive application, specifically conceived for Picasso Automotive, is entirely made in titanium, granting the best thermal resistance, a captivating sound and a considerable weight reduction compared to traditional materials.
Design alone is not enough to deliver the best track performance, that’s why Picasso Automotive spent several hours running CFD simulations and real-life wind tunnel analyses already in the preliminary phases of the project. Finding the optimal downforce level at any speed is critical to maximize grip and performance in every driving situation and it’s considered a paramount asset for safety. The 660 LMS features a naturally aerodynamic body, which interacts with the large front splitter, the rear manually adjustable wing, the flat floor and the big rear diffuser to ensure the perfect aero balance between the front and the rear of the car. The result of these refined studies is a staggering 960 kilograms of maximum downforce at top speed (315 km/h).
Also the suspension compartment of the 660 LMS has been entirely designed in-house. It features a billet aluminum double wishbone scheme, with push-rod damper. Front and rear roll bars, brackets, spacers and wheel hubs have been internally designed as well. This scheme allows for a quick and effective setup calibration, granting a various number of configurations.
True to its own racing spirit, the 660 LMS is equipped with single nut multi spoke forged wheels, which are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires (front: 245/35 R19 – rear: 315/30 R20), specifically conceived to deploy the full power of the 660 LMS with maximum performance and safety both on road and on track. Picasso Automotive is proud to announce Pirelli as Official Technology Partner & Exclusive Tire Supplier of its automotive creations. A strong technical and commercial collaboration which will grant top level performance and worldwide exposure.
Another technical solution inspired by motorsport, namely GT racing, are the digital rearview mirrors. This solution allows for weight reduction and better aerodynamics, without compromising the functionality. Two high-resolution cameras are enclosed in a dedicated carbon fiber housing on the front wheel arches and send their real-time captures to two 7” color TFT screens on the sides of the interior dashboard.
For the braking system, the 660 LMS adopts monobloc aluminum Brembo 6-piston calipers with a 350×34 mm disk at the front and 4-piston calipers with 355×28 mm disk at the rear. Developed to increase overall braking performance, this system provides consistent braking power and feel under extreme conditions. The 660 LMS will be the first car ever to be fitted with the GALT. Smart Pads. These sensor-embedded brake pads transform the ubiquitous friction technology from a passive component into an active system that delivers real-time temperature data that improve driver’s awareness on brakes status, enabling a more effective performance and a higher level of safety.
In line with the constant search for ultimate innovation, the 660 LMS is the first supercar equipped with the DAI virtual sensor of Easyrain, a predictive system capable of recognizing the presence of dangerous wet road situations and aquaplaning conditions. Thanks to its proprietary predictive algorithms, based on standard vehicle’s network data, DAI provides warning level outputs to the vehicle. On the 660 LMS, it will be used to detect the grip loss caused by adverse road surface or extreme driving conditions, enhancing safety and pleasure to drive.

Optional and customization

On top of a considerable array of factory aesthetic and technical options, Picasso Automotive offers its own AD HOC customization program, a true tailor-made package for the realization of specific interior and exterior aesthetic details. Customers can fully personalize their own 660 LMS to a never seen before level.

Price and availability

The Picasso Automotive 660 LMS will be sold worldwide and built on order in just 21 units, of which 20 destined to final customers, with a price list starting at 820.000 € detax. The order collection is open starting today, with production and deliveries planned in the second half of 2023.
